International Lomonossow Campus | Opening

The key event of the year for MITRA Association in Berlin, a significant event for Berlin district Marzahn-Hellersdorf and for the whole city – the opening of the International Lomonosov Campus took place on the 9th of August, 2021. The innovative educational complex, the architectural ensemble with no parallel in the federal land of Berlin or in Eastern Germany.

“What makes this project unique is that, strange as it may seem, there is not a single school from primary till grade 13, till the Abitur in Berlin – the European metropolis, where not only children living in Berlin, but also those coming from elsewhere in the world, can study. We have succeeded in creating the conditions for this to become a reality. From now on there is a school with great boarding houses in Berlin for those children who, while being the residents of other countries, can obtain the German Abitur and study further at a German or European university,” – Marina Burd, the executive director of MITRA Association, the head organization of the International Lomonosov Schools in Berlin, proudly introduces the new campus.

“I wish all schools in our district were built and opened at such a speed and fit so wonderfully into the landscape. (…) I wish I had grandchildren of school age to send to this school!”
Dagmar Pole, mayor of Marzahn-Hellersdorf district in Berlin, the Campus opening ceremony, August 2021.
